The living sonus: phenomenology of a voice without body
Keywords:
Echo, Language-being, Phenomenology of voice, IterabilityAbstract
This essay examines the language-being of the nymph Echo through an articulation of Heideggerian phenomenology of language as event and Peter Sloterdijk's theory of spheres. Beginning with Juno's punishment, read as an act of semiotic proscription that strips Echo of enunciative initiative without extinguishing her vocal existence, the essay develops four analytical movements: the aporia of a path-toward-language without proper origin; the tensive configuration of a being whose intensity is maximal yet whose extensity is wholly determined by the other; the phenomenology of a voice without body as infrastructural resonance chamber.
