PROPHECY IN AVICENNA: THE UNION OF HUMAN AND DIVINE
Keywords:
Avicenna, Prophet, Intelligence, Human perfectionAbstract
For philosophy, falsafa, in the Islamic world, and for Avicenna in particular, its most prominent representative, prophecy comes about as the result of certain physical and psychic conditions. What determines these conditions is the emanations that flow necessarily from the celestial intelligences, although Avicenna also presents a rationalistic picture of ethical principles, where prophetic action is understood as the paradigm of human perfection.Downloads
