Muchos son los elementos de Antígona, de Sofocles, que refieren el espectador del siglo V a diversas prácticas legales. Estas prácticas emergen de los muchos estados en el desarollo de la actividade juridica y son fundadas en conceptos legales también diferentes. Sófocles los usa y asi edifica uno esqueleto complejo en lo cual varios estractos de la creencia y comportamiento se tejen encorajando sus compatriotas a pensar con cuidado la práctica legal en la ciudad.
