Meno: the ontology of definition in the Meno
Keywords:
ontology, definiendum, eÃdos, ousÃaAbstract
Which is the general ontology corresponding to the socratic-platonic definition of definition? I think it is not the same all over the dialogues. The special concern of searching it in the Meno depends on the fact that the middle ontology is still not present in it, although it is already borning in its pages. The Meno’ ontology of definition is then still very close to the (implicit) socratic ontology of the immanence, and announces already the platonic ontology of the transcendence, until the point that the controversy between the last one and the rival ontology of Gorgias and Anthistenes is beginning to show itself in it.Downloads
