Abstract

Bruno, or On the Natural and the Divine Principle of Things is Schelling's dialogue that not just intends to emulate the Platonic dialogues, but also to revive the Theory of the Ideas. The central subject of this dialogue is the separation (Absonderung) of the finite, or the origin of the finite from the infinite. The necessity to explain the report between finite and infinite leads Schelling to explain, with Plato's help, the eterniry of pure entiry by means of which he takes a step back towards the Platonic idea.
