The following paper aims to present the quest for human figurative nature as a sign for conclusions about a phenomenon that is of very archaic origin and found in Epic, Lyric, and Tragic texts. Such phenomenon is named eídôlon, translated as “double”. To illustrate the thesis, an excerpt is chosen which, according to our reading, is exemplary for a vision of the phenomenon and its possible relations with philosophy.
