Protagoras and Heraclitus in the Platonic Cratylus
Keywords:
Platão, Crátilo, comédia, heraclitianosAbstract
Commentaries on the platonic Cratylus usually agree that, in this dialogue, Plato has a number of unspoken adversaries whose thoughts he wishes to refute when he depicts Socrates conversing with Hermogenes and Cratylus. This article aims to provide a small contribution to that debate by showing how and why Protagoras and Heraclitus can be seen as the candidates for those unspoken adversaries in this context.Downloads
