Considerations on Empedocles and the orphic-pythagorean order
Keywords:

This paper presents some considerations about the pre-Socratic philosopher Empedocles and his links with the Orphic-Pythagorean mystical doctrines, and, more specifically, his affiliation with the Pythagorean order. The initiated in the mysteries of that order has the command of his prapídes and is a theiós anér. This sacred man can reach the divine sophia by contemplation of the truth, becoming a philosophós. We aim to demonstrate that Empedocles was one of those men.Downloads
