Keywords:
nature man, citzenship, excellence, happinessAbstract
In the book one of Rousseau’s Emilio, the author, with excitement, refers to Licurgo and Plato as men who have come to understand the real meaning of man’s denaturation; Licurgo by means of action and Plato by means of thought. The objective of the present article is to discuss this statement, considering Rousseau’s own ideas, under the historical experience of the Spartan state, and of Plato’s political proposition.Downloads
