Ethics and Creativity. Liberty, sense and rules in practical-operative contexts
Keywords:
Ethics, Creativity, moral rulesAbstract
This paper explores the connections between the concepts of ethics and creativity. It is shown that the very notion of creativity as used in the everyday language involves a reference to goals to be achieved and to rulebased procedures leading to these goals. The case of rule-based games as chess is considered, in order to argue that the different contexts in which creativity can be deployed show as an essential feature a distinctive combination of spontaneity and rule-mediation. These features are projected, finally, to the field of genuine (i. e. non-ludical) praxis, in order to stress the role creativity plays in human agency, specially in respect to its moral dimension.Downloads
