O Homem Tirânico na República de Platão
Keywords:
tyranny, injustice, desire, individualAbstract
This paper comments on the genesis of the tyrannical man, according to Plato’s arguments in the Republic (VIII and IX). The dialectic of the negative forms of justice permits the creation of hypotheses about the metaphysical evil in the origins of political activity and puts forward the necessity of a philosophical education for the ruler. Plato’s text, building a socio-psychological profile of the tyrant, shows the relevance of the education process for the lower parts of the soul. Only the cultivation of rationality can perfect man and make him happy, and prevent the degeneration of the polis.Downloads
