As duas almas do homem no Timeu de Platão
Keywords:
soul, mortality, immortality, cosmologyAbstract
In Timaeus, besides the production of the cosmic soul, defined among other attributes as immortal, Plato structures the production of the mortal soul. Both, according to him, are intertwined in the human mortal body, a statement extremely problematic which the philosopher himself, I think, did not solve. I intend to suggest that the notion of soul and its consequences, as it was accepted by the philosophical and religious traditions, has brought forth interpretations about Plato not always suitable to his text.Downloads
