O presente artigo visa analisar a ideia de 2 Macabeus do judaísmo (Ἰουδαϊσμός) como uma πολιτεία, opondo-se ao helenismo (Ἑλληνισμός) e constituindo-se como um elemento identitário não somente de aspecto religioso, mas também cultural e político. Para isto, se analisa não somente o modo pelo qual 2 Macabeus apresenta os termos Ἰουδαϊσμός e Ἑλληνισμός dentro do relato a respeito das causas da Revolta dos Macabeus, mas também de que modo a própria revolta se configura em uma defesa do Ἰουδαϊσμός e resistência ao Ἑλληνισμός na luta pela restauração das leis e da própria constituição judaica.Referências
